Frequently Asked Questions

01. What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol, which is one of over 100 compounds found in the CBD rich hemp plants that always contain less that .3% THC. The products that we sell on our website contain various concentrations of CBD Oil and never contain more then .3% THC.

02. What is the endocannabinoid system (ECS)?

The Endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a biological system that plays an important role in regulating a range of functions and processes that affect our everyday life – such as mood, energy level, immune activity, how we experience pain, stress, and more.

03. Difference between hemp and marijuana

Hemp and Marijuana are both the same species of plant, but there are a few major differences. The first and most important being their genetic profile. Hemp is always a strain of Cannabis Sativa, whereas marijuana can be cannabis sativa, indica, or ruderalis. Secondly, in the US hemp is defined as any cannabis plant that has 0.3 percent or less THC while marijuana is any plant that has greater than .3 percent THC. Finally, there is a large difference in appearance. Hemp plants typically have long strong stalks and very few flowering buds, while marijuana is short, bushy, and full of flowering buds.

04. Isolate, broad spectrum, full spectrum

CBD Isolate is the purest form of CBD and does not contain any other compounds or cannabinoids. Broad Spectrum is hemp extract from the plant that preserves all the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids, except for THC. Full Spectrum CBD is extract that preserves all of the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids that occur naturally in hemp.

05. Is CBD legal?

Yes, hemp-derived CBD is legal in all 50 states.

06. Will this get me high?

No. The effects of CBD are not psychoactive and will not create any of the effects associated with getting high.

07. What is the difference between pet and human CBD?

The biggest difference when looking at CBD for pets is the dosage per milligram. Your pets have an endocannabinoid system (ECS) just like we do, so CBD for pets functions similarly to how it works on humans. Another difference is that we flavor our products so your pet will actually enjoy them!

08. Can I give the “regular” CBD to my pet?

We do NOT recommend giving your pet CBD oil that was meant for humans because the concentration is much higher. Essential CBD’s oils, capsules, and edibles are not meant to be used for pets, which is why we have specific products that are meant for pets.

09. Most effective way to take CBD?

There are several ways that you can take CBD and none are better than others. The most common way is sublingually (under your tongue). You can also take capsules, eat CBD gummies, or use a CBD cream or lotion on your body.

10. How should I store my CBD, what is the shelf life?

The most optimal place to keep your CBD oil or other products is in a place that’s dark, dry, and cool. If you properly store your CBD products, it will last for about a year.

11. Will I fail a drug test if I take CBD products?

Although CBD is a legal cannabinoid from hemp, it does contain less than .3% THC, which could show up in a drug screen depending on how sensitive it is. We cannot guarantee that you will or will not pass a drug screen due to this. If you have to take a test, we would not recommend using our products.

12. I've never tried CBD before, what should I expect?

Everyone reacts to CBD differently, so it’s hard for us to say. Some customers have reported it makes them feel relaxed, while others have said it helps their mental clarity. It really depends on what product you’re using and what you’re using it for.

13. Are there side effects?

CBD is a natural and safe compound, but like anything else can have some mild side effects if not used properly. The most common reported side effects are dry mouth and dizziness and/or lightheadedness.

14. Do I need a prescription for this?

No you don’t because hemp-derived CBD is legal in all 50 states.
